Salt air off the water is hard on a chimney, and the canyon streets sit in a fire zone. We sweep, inspect and repair across the Palisades, from the village up into the Highlands.
Send the details and we will get back to you the same day. We inspect first and price after, so the number we give you is the number you pay.

We cover sweeping, inspection and repair across Pacific Palisades, from the village at Sunset and Swarthmore up through the Highlands and out along the bluffs above the coast.
The Palisades sits on the coast between Santa Monica and Malibu, and it is really a set of small pockets rather than one flat neighborhood. The village core near Sunset is walkable and level. West of it the Alphabet Streets run in a tidy grid. To the east the Riviera holds some of the oldest and grandest estates in the area, and above all of it the Highlands and the canyon streets climb up toward the hills.
The housing is as mixed as the terrain. There are original 1920s and 1930s homes, ranch houses from the postwar years, canyon builds tucked into the hillsides, and a steady run of rebuilds. What ties the chimneys together is the coast. Living this close to the water changes how a stack ages, and it is the first thing we look at here.
Access is the other local factor. Plenty of Palisades homes sit on narrow canyon roads or steep driveways, and the coastal streets are slow going. We plan the timing around that rather than turn up and rush the roof.
All of it is available across the neighborhood, and every job opens with an inspection.
Where everything else begins. You get photos and a plain read on the chimney's condition.
Crowns, mortar, flashing and flue liners. The usual work on coastal stacks of this age.
Flue cleared of creosote and soot, with the mess held in from start to finish.
Tracing water back to its source, which matters where the marine layer keeps masonry damp.
Caps and spark arrestors fitted right, which counts for more up in the fire zone.
Firebox, damper and hearth work on the older and remodeled fireplaces here.

We hired Chimney Brothers to repair and rebuild two masonry fireplaces, including firebox and smoke chamber work, and we had a great experience overall. Joseph was involved from start to finish and was consistently on site, not just managing from a distance. He took the time to explain what was going on, answered questions clearly, and made sure the work was done right. It was reassuring to see him present and actively involved while the crew was working. The team showed up when they said they would, worked carefully, and didn’t rush through the job. When I had questions or wanted to look at specific areas, Joseph was patient and responsive, and made sure everything we discussed was addressed before wrapping up. The final result looks solid and well done, and the whole process felt transparent and professional. I appreciate the hands-on approach and would feel comfortable recommending Chimney Brothers to anyone who needs serious fireplace or chimney repair.Posted on Google![]()

I had the opportunity to work with joseph From Chimney Brothers on one of my rental properties. A previous tenant left the property in a bad condition. I called a couple different companies come out and inspect my fireplace, a few of them seemed fishy. I also checked The chimney brothers license and bond certificates to ensure they didn’t have any ongoing lawsuits or a bad rep with the CSLB. Joseph came and installed for me glass doors, custom gas logs and purged my smoke chamber. The job was done in a very quick and professional manner. They didn’t leave any debris and I was super impressed. I would definitely recommend them!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Great experience, and I truly found a trustworthy company that I’m sure I’ll use in my next properties.Posted on Google![]()

Chimney services always comes with lots skepticism; it's not a usual services like plumbing, and it's not a necessity. Selecting CB is a right call. Joseph is pleasant to work with; he appears knowledgeable, considerate and delivered as promised. We took his advices and went through major works. The result and process is satisfactory. Highly recommend.Posted on Yelp![]()

Joseph was awesome. He came out to inspect the chimney on our first home and was on time, friendly and super knowledgeable. He walked us through everything, explained why the chimney needed a cleaning, and pointed out that the galvanized chase cover should be replaced to help prevent future water damage. As first-time homeowners, we really appreciated how informative and thorough he was. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. We left feeling much more confident and would definitely recommend Joseph and The Chimney Brothers!Posted on Yelp![]()

Needed to clean our chimney for our 1 story home which had been neglected for about 13 years. Joseph came and did a efficient evaluation and quote for not just a cleaning but also for resurfacing. We opted for just the cleaning at this time. Joseph again came out and did a quick and clean job, no hassle. He was kind and easy to talk to. Will definitely call Chimney Brothers when we are ready for the resurfacing.Posted on Yelp![]()

Our rampart-styled-design chimney had significant cracking all over from top to bottom. Inquired for a estimate to repair the cracking. Received a very competitive quote from C.B and approved the job. Joseph and his team member came promptly and explained the process, answered all our questions, then immediately got to work. They are extremely professional that after cement was filled in cracks they were able to reproduce the same exact lines and texture of chimney. They are highly efficient. The tuck pointing, repainting, and cap installation was all done on the same day. The outstanding quality is very evident from before and after pics. I will not hesitate one bit to contact them for all my chimney needs. Extremely satisfied!! Thank you C.B.Posted on Yelp![]()

Chimney Brothers are fantastic! Joseph came out to our house for a consultation and about a week later was back to install a new gas system with ceramic logs that was 1,000 times better than the existing system. He was super professional, courteous and performed excellent, clean work. We are beyond thrilled with the results. Thank you guys!
The thing that sets a Palisades chimney apart is the ocean. Salt sits in the coastal air, and salt is hard on metal. The parts of a chimney that are made of steel, the cap, the spark arrestor, the damper and the flashing around the base, rust noticeably faster near the water than they do a few miles inland. We see caps here that are only a few years old already going orange.
The marine layer adds the second half of it. Morning fog and damp keep masonry from ever fully drying out, and brick that stays wet spalls and blooms with efflorescence earlier than dry inland brick does. A crown or a set of mortar joints that would last decades in the Valley asks for attention sooner here.
Then there is the fire side, which nobody in the Palisades needs reminding about. The canyon and hillside streets sit in a very high fire hazard severity zone, and a sound spark arrestor on the cap is what keeps an ember inside the flue where it belongs. If yours is rusted through or missing, that is worth handling before fire season, not after.
You can check a little of it yourself. Look at the cap for rust runs, and drag a screwdriver along any mortar joint you can reach. If the metal is flaking or the mortar crumbles under light pressure, the stack is ready for a proper look.
Call for the quickest answer, or send the form higher up the page and we will come back to you the same day.
Usually the same week. We are based in the Valley and cover the Westside coast regularly, so a Palisades visit slots in without much wait. Call and we will give you the next open day.
It does, more than most people expect. Salt in the coastal air rusts the metal parts of a chimney faster than inland, so caps, spark arrestors, dampers and flashing wear out sooner here. The damp marine layer also keeps masonry from drying, which brings on spalling and staining earlier. It is the main reason we check the metal and the crown closely on Palisades homes.
Yes, and it matters a great deal here. The hillside and canyon streets sit in a very high fire hazard severity zone, and a spark arrestor on the cap keeps an ember from drifting out of your flue into dry brush. If yours is rusted through or missing, we would sort that before the season rather than leave it.
Usually yes. A flue that sits mostly unused still collects nesting material and debris, and near the coast the damp keeps working on the masonry whether you light a fire or not. A yearly look catches the small things while they are still small.
Once a year for most homes if you burn wood, ideally before the first cold night. Even light use lays down creosote, and the annual visit is also when we catch a rusting cap or an opening joint before it turns into a leak.
No. Everything gets covered before a tool comes out, and the vacuum runs the whole visit. You should not be able to tell we were there.
We look at it, you see the photos, then you get a written price. Call, or fill in the form above.
