We cover sweeping, inspection and repair across Thousand Oaks, from Newbury Park and Wildwood to North Ranch, Lynn Ranch and the Lake Sherwood estates.
Thousand Oaks spreads across the Conejo Valley, ringed by oak-covered hills, and most of it was built from the 1970s onward as the valley filled in. You get large tracts of stucco family homes through Newbury Park, Wildwood and Lynn Ranch, and bigger custom estates up in North Ranch and around Lake Sherwood.
That building era matters for chimneys. A lot of these homes have factory-built, prefab fireplaces with metal fireboxes and a chase rather than a solid masonry stack. They are perfectly good, but they wear differently, and the caps, chase covers and spark arrestors on them are exactly where the trouble starts. The custom estates lean more toward full masonry, so we see both.
Access is usually easy on the tract streets and slower up in the gated North Ranch and Sherwood areas. We confirm the gate and roof access before the visit rather than sort it at the curb.
All of it is available across the neighborhood, and every job opens with an inspection.
Where every job starts. Photos and a plain read on the chimney or the prefab firebox.
Crowns, mortar, chase covers and flue liners, on both masonry and factory-built stacks.
Flue cleared of creosote and soot, with the mess held in the whole visit.
Tracing a leak back to its source, often a worn chase cover or flashing on these homes.
Caps and spark arrestors fitted right, which counts with Santa Ana winds and nearby brush.
Firebox, damper and hearth work on masonry and prefab fireplaces alike.

We hired Chimney Brothers to repair and rebuild two masonry fireplaces, including firebox and smoke chamber work, and we had a great experience overall. Joseph was involved from start to finish and was consistently on site, not just managing from a distance. He took the time to explain what was going on, answered questions clearly, and made sure the work was done right. It was reassuring to see him present and actively involved while the crew was working. The team showed up when they said they would, worked carefully, and didn’t rush through the job. When I had questions or wanted to look at specific areas, Joseph was patient and responsive, and made sure everything we discussed was addressed before wrapping up. The final result looks solid and well done, and the whole process felt transparent and professional. I appreciate the hands-on approach and would feel comfortable recommending Chimney Brothers to anyone who needs serious fireplace or chimney repair.Posted on Google![]()

I just had the chimney Brothers install custom glass doors for me. Absolutely love the result! They also swept the chimney! Communication was great, time line was also pretty quick. I had the opportunity to work with joseph From Chimney Brothers on one of my rental properties. A previous tenant left the property in a bad condition. I called a couple different companies come out and inspect my fireplace, a few of them seemed fishy. I also checked The chimney brothers license and bond certificates to ensure they didn’t have any ongoing lawsuits or a bad rep with the CSLB. Joseph came and installed for me glass doors, custom gas logs and purged my smoke chamber. The job was done in a very quick and professional manner. They didn’t leave any debris and I was super impressed. I would definitely recommend them!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Great experience, and I truly found a trustworthy company that I’m sure I’ll use in my next properties.Posted on Google![]()

Chimney services always comes with lots skepticism; it's not a usual services like plumbing, and it's not a necessity. Selecting CB is a right call. Joseph is pleasant to work with; he appears knowledgeable, considerate and delivered as promised. We took his advices and went through major works. The result and process is satisfactory. Highly recommend.Posted on Yelp![]()

Joseph was awesome. He came out to inspect the chimney on our first home and was on time, friendly and super knowledgeable. He walked us through everything, explained why the chimney needed a cleaning, and pointed out that the galvanized chase cover should be replaced to help prevent future water damage. As first-time homeowners, we really appreciated how informative and thorough he was. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. We left feeling much more confident and would definitely recommend Joseph and The Chimney Brothers!Posted on Yelp![]()

Needed to clean our chimney for our 1 story home which had been neglected for about 13 years. Joseph came and did a efficient evaluation and quote for not just a cleaning but also for resurfacing. We opted for just the cleaning at this time. Joseph again came out and did a quick and clean job, no hassle. He was kind and easy to talk to. Will definitely call Chimney Brothers when we are ready for the resurfacing.Posted on Yelp![]()

Our rampart-styled-design chimney had significant cracking all over from top to bottom. Inquired for a estimate to repair the cracking. Received a very competitive quote from C.B and approved the job. Joseph and his team member came promptly and explained the process, answered all our questions, then immediately got to work. They are extremely professional that after cement was filled in cracks they were able to reproduce the same exact lines and texture of chimney. They are highly efficient. The tuck pointing, repainting, and cap installation was all done on the same day. The outstanding quality is very evident from before and after pics. I will not hesitate one bit to contact them for all my chimney needs. Extremely satisfied!! Thank you C.B.Posted on Yelp![]()

Chimney Brothers are fantastic! Joseph came out to our house for a consultation and about a week later was back to install a new gas system with ceramic logs that was 1,000 times better than the existing system. He was super professional, courteous and performed excellent, clean work. We are beyond thrilled with the results. Thank you guys!
A lot of Thousand Oaks was built during the prefab-fireplace era, so many homes here have a factory-built metal firebox inside a framed chase rather than a brick chimney. The weak points are up top, the chase cover, the cap and the spark arrestor, and once a chase cover rusts or a storm collar fails, water runs straight down inside the chase.
The valley runs hot and dry through the summer, and that heat is hard on the metal and the sealant in a prefab system. Old firebox panels crack, dampers seize and gaskets dry out, all of which show up when you go to light the first fire of the season.
Then there is wind and fire. The Conejo Valley sits in Santa Ana country and has been through the Woolsey and Hill fires, so a working spark arrestor on the cap is not optional up against the brush. It keeps an ember inside the flue where it belongs.
From the ground you can check the chase cover for rust streaks and the cap for damage. If you see staining down the chase or the firebox panels look cracked, it is time for a proper look before you burn.
Call for the quickest answer, or send the form higher up the page and we will come back to you the same day.
Usually the same week. We are in the Conejo Valley regularly, so a Thousand Oaks visit fits in without much wait. Call and we will give you the next open day and a realistic window.
Yes, all the time. Factory-built fireplaces need the same care up top, the cap, chase cover and spark arrestor, plus checks on the firebox panels and damper. We service both prefab and masonry.
Yes. Thousand Oaks sits in Santa Ana and fire country, and a spark arrestor keeps an ember from leaving your flue into dry brush. If yours is missing or rusted, we would sort it before fire season.
On a prefab chimney that is usually a rusted chase cover or a failed storm collar letting water down the chase. We trace it to the source and fix the actual leak rather than just seal over it.
Once a year for most homes that burn wood, before the first cold night. Even light use builds creosote, and the yearly visit is when we catch a rusting cover or a cracked panel early.
No. We cover everything before starting and run the vacuum the whole time. You should not be able to tell we were there.
We look at it, you see the photos, then you get a written price. Call, or fill in the form above.
