A beach town with salt in the air, wind off the water and a lot of older masonry downtown. We sweep, inspect and repair chimneys across Ventura, from the Pierpont lanes and the downtown blocks up into the Ondulando and Hobson Heights hills.
Send the details and we will get back to you the same day. We inspect first and price after, so the number we give you is the number you pay.

We cover sweeping, inspection and repair across Ventura, from Pierpont and the downtown Avenue up into Ondulando, Hobson Heights and the hillside streets above midtown.
Ventura runs along the coast where the hills come down close to the water, and the housing follows that shape. Down by the sand you get the tight Pierpont lanes and the Keys, and around downtown and Midtown there are older Craftsman and Victorian homes near the Avenue. Above them the streets climb into Ondulando, Hobson Heights and the hillside pockets that look back over the ocean.
The older parts of town carry a lot of early-1900s masonry, brick chimneys that have stood through decades of damp coastal air and the odd earthquake. Newer tracts inland from the beach mix in prefab fireplaces. Both turn up on our rounds, and each gets checked on its own terms.
Access here is usually straightforward down on the flats, and slower up in the hills where the streets narrow and climb. We plan the roof access and the timing before the visit rather than sort it out in your driveway.
All of it is available across the neighborhood, and every job opens with an inspection.
Where every job starts. Photos and a plain read on where the chimney stands.
Crowns, mortar, flashing and flue liners, standard work on the older brick stacks near the coast.
Flue cleared of creosote and soot, with the mess kept inside the whole visit.
Tracing a leak back to its source, which matters where salt damp and winter storms work on the brick.
Caps and spark arrestors fitted right, worth more with the brush on the hills above town.
Firebox, damper and hearth work on the older and remodeled fireplaces around Ventura.

We hired Chimney Brothers to repair and rebuild two masonry fireplaces, including firebox and smoke chamber work, and we had a great experience overall. Joseph was involved from start to finish and was consistently on site, not just managing from a distance. He took the time to explain what was going on, answered questions clearly, and made sure the work was done right. It was reassuring to see him present and actively involved while the crew was working. The team showed up when they said they would, worked carefully, and didn’t rush through the job. When I had questions or wanted to look at specific areas, Joseph was patient and responsive, and made sure everything we discussed was addressed before wrapping up. The final result looks solid and well done, and the whole process felt transparent and professional. I appreciate the hands-on approach and would feel comfortable recommending Chimney Brothers to anyone who needs serious fireplace or chimney repair.Posted on Google![]()

I had the opportunity to work with joseph From Chimney Brothers on one of my rental properties. A previous tenant left the property in a bad condition. I called a couple different companies come out and inspect my fireplace, a few of them seemed fishy. I also checked The chimney brothers license and bond certificates to ensure they didn’t have any ongoing lawsuits or a bad rep with the CSLB. Joseph came and installed for me glass doors, custom gas logs and purged my smoke chamber. The job was done in a very quick and professional manner. They didn’t leave any debris and I was super impressed. I would definitely recommend them!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Great experience, and I truly found a trustworthy company that I’m sure I’ll use in my next properties.Posted on Google![]()

Chimney services always comes with lots skepticism; it's not a usual services like plumbing, and it's not a necessity. Selecting CB is a right call. Joseph is pleasant to work with; he appears knowledgeable, considerate and delivered as promised. We took his advices and went through major works. The result and process is satisfactory. Highly recommend.Posted on Yelp![]()

Joseph was awesome. He came out to inspect the chimney on our first home and was on time, friendly and super knowledgeable. He walked us through everything, explained why the chimney needed a cleaning, and pointed out that the galvanized chase cover should be replaced to help prevent future water damage. As first-time homeowners, we really appreciated how informative and thorough he was. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. We left feeling much more confident and would definitely recommend Joseph and The Chimney Brothers!Posted on Yelp![]()

Needed to clean our chimney for our 1 story home which had been neglected for about 13 years. Joseph came and did a efficient evaluation and quote for not just a cleaning but also for resurfacing. We opted for just the cleaning at this time. Joseph again came out and did a quick and clean job, no hassle. He was kind and easy to talk to. Will definitely call Chimney Brothers when we are ready for the resurfacing.Posted on Yelp![]()

Our rampart-styled-design chimney had significant cracking all over from top to bottom. Inquired for a estimate to repair the cracking. Received a very competitive quote from C.B and approved the job. Joseph and his team member came promptly and explained the process, answered all our questions, then immediately got to work. They are extremely professional that after cement was filled in cracks they were able to reproduce the same exact lines and texture of chimney. They are highly efficient. The tuck pointing, repainting, and cap installation was all done on the same day. The outstanding quality is very evident from before and after pics. I will not hesitate one bit to contact them for all my chimney needs. Extremely satisfied!! Thank you C.B.Posted on Yelp![]()

Chimney Brothers are fantastic! Joseph came out to our house for a consultation and about a week later was back to install a new gas system with ceramic logs that was 1,000 times better than the existing system. He was super professional, courteous and performed excellent, clean work. We are beyond thrilled with the results. Thank you guys!
Living this close to the water puts salt in the air, and salt is hard on metal. The steel on a chimney, the cap, the arrestor, the damper and the flashing, rusts faster near the beach than a few miles inland. Down in Pierpont and along the coast we see caps going orange while they are still young.
The marine layer keeps things damp, and masonry that never fully dries spalls and blooms with white efflorescence sooner. On the older brick chimneys downtown that shows up as flaking faces and open mortar joints, and it only speeds up once water has a way in.
The hills above midtown carry brush, and Ventura has seen how fast a fire can move on a dry wind. A sound spark arrestor on the cap keeps an ember inside the flue, which counts for more the closer you sit to open ground.
Some of this you can spot from the yard. Look at the cap for rust, and press a screwdriver into a mortar joint. If the metal flakes or the mortar gives, the chimney is ready for a proper look, and after a big storm or a windy spell is a good time for one.
Call for the quickest answer, or send the form higher up the page and we will come back to you the same day.
Usually the same week. We are on the coast run often, so a Ventura visit fits in without much wait. Call and we will give you the next open day and an honest arrival window.
Yes. Salt in the air rusts the metal parts faster near the beach, so caps, arrestors, dampers and flashing wear out sooner. The damp also keeps brick from drying, so we look closely at the metal and the masonry on coastal homes.
Yes. The hillside streets sit near open ground that can burn on a dry wind, and a spark arrestor keeps an ember from leaving your flue. If yours is missing or rusted through, we would fit one before fire season.
Not on its own, but old brick and lime mortar do wear, and coastal damp speeds it up. A look tells you whether it needs repointing, a new crown or just a sweep. We would rather catch it early than after a leak.
Once a year for most homes that burn wood, before the first cold night. Even light use builds creosote, and the yearly visit is when we catch a rusting cap or an opening joint early.
No. We cover everything before starting and run the vacuum throughout. You should not be able to tell we were there.
We look at it, you see the photos, then you get a written price. Call, or fill in the form above.
